Overview
Good Spirit School Division 204 is hiring a permanent, full-time caretaker for M.C. Knoll School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Caretakers help keep school buildings and grounds clean, functional, and visually welcoming across facilities operated by the division.
Assignment and Schedule
This role is a full-time assignment with an 8-hour workday.
Duties
- Carry out routine care, upkeep, and maintenance work.
- Perform standard janitorial tasks for the school.
- Sweep and mop floors, collect and remove garbage, and sanitize surfaces.
- Maintain the appearance and condition of the school building and surrounding grounds.
- Complete any additional tasks directed by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator, as well as duties outlined in the Facilities: Caretaker job description.
Qualifications
- Minimum education of Grade 10 or an equivalent level.
- Strong commitment to keeping a facility clean, safe, and operational.
- Previous caretaking experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are considered an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay is set under the CUPE 4784 Collective Agreement. The hourly wage range is $20.16 to $24.06, and wages are paid monthly. Vacation accrues at the applicable rate. Eligible employees may participate in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan, and pension enrollment may be available through the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan if chosen. Professional development seminars may also be available.
Background Check Requirement
Applicants who are not currently employed by Good Spirit School Division must provide a recent criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, completed within the last six months and acceptable to the Board of Education, before an offer of employment can be made.
