About the Role
A reputable organization seeks an experienced payroll expert to contribute beyond routine processing by participating in a compliance and governance initiative. This role involves joining a respected team working on enhancing payroll-related frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance assessments.
- Analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies by identifying their root causes.
- Interpret and apply relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and payroll legislation.
- Examine and improve payroll processes, internal controls, and governance structures.
- Support payroll and HRIS system implementations and transformations, including conducting testing, designing processes, and managing business readiness tasks.
- Develop documentation, propose recommendations, and suggest process enhancements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and lead workshops to facilitate understanding and improvements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive experience managing end-to-end payroll operations within complex organizational settings.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll laws, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Background in payroll compliance, governance, remediation, auditing, or operational improvements.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level payroll platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Previous participation in payroll transformation, system rollout, or change management projects is highly advantageous.
