Position Overview
This role is based in Berlin and Leipzig, Germany, offering a hybrid working model as a full-time Payroll Accountant. The position involves comprehensive payroll management and client advisory responsibilities within the framework of German payroll tax and social security regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly payrolls independently for specific clients.
- Manage payroll reporting and certification procedures efficiently.
- Provide expert advice to clients and colleagues on matters concerning payroll, payroll tax, and social security contributions.
- Maintain updated employee master data and payroll documentation.
- Liaise professionally with tax authorities, social security institutions, and health insurance providers.
- Address complex payroll issues and conduct thorough quality checks within the payroll system.
- Contribute to year-end payroll processes and audits by the German Pension Insurance.
- Engage in projects including onboarding of new clients and enhancement of internal payroll workflows.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed commercial or business education, or an equivalent qualification.
- Several years of experience handling payroll tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of German payroll tax and social security law.
- Familiarity with payroll software; experience with DATEV is advantageous.
- Strong analytical abilities combined with an autonomous work ethic.
- Focus on customer service with meticulous attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for modern technological tools and commitment to continuous process improvements.
- Fluent German language skills at C1 level, both oral and written.
