About the role
Health & Rehab Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented, self-managed Payment Poster to support a short-term project after the company moved its physical therapy clinics to a new EMR platform. This assignment will last about 8 to 12 weeks and focuses on working through unpaid balances and incoming receivables in the old system.
What you will do
- Handle a backlog of outstanding payments and receivables from insurance carriers across several states within the legacy EMR.
- Record payments accurately each day and ensure they are posted promptly.
- Identify and report recurring issues in denied, delayed, or otherwise problematic claims while reviewing the queue.
What you will bring
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to notice discrepancies others may miss.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Confident use of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
- High integrity and a reliable habit of completing work through to the end.
Required experience
- Prior hands-on experience with medical payment posting.
- Experience with accounts receivable or claims follow-up is preferred.

Health & Rehab Solutions (HRS) is a therapist-owned organization operating more than 40 physical therapy clinics across 6 states. The role supports the central revenue cycle team and is performed remotely in coordination with the billing group.
Contract details
- This is a remote engagement that can be performed from anywhere.
- The work arrangement is 1099 independent contractor status.
- Expected duration is approximately 8 to 12 weeks.
- Compensation is $18 per hour.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday for 8 hours per day, with a flexible start time; most of the team works from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Applicants must be able to pass a background screening.
