Job Overview
We are searching for an experienced Medical Scribe / Patient Services Representative to assist physicians by precisely documenting patient interactions as they happen. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of medical terminology, exceptional typing proficiency, and familiarity with electronic medical records systems, especially Epic or CS-Link.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support physicians by accompanying them during patient consultations and document encounters in real-time.
- Accurately transcribe detailed patient histories, physical assessments, evaluations, and treatment plans.
- Record laboratory and diagnostic imaging findings with accuracy.
- Log physician orders involving prescriptions, referrals, lab tests, procedures, and subsequent care directions.
- Document diagnoses, symptoms, pharmacological prescriptions, and patient education as instructed by providers.
- Prepare, proofread, and modify medical records to be approved and signed by physicians.
- Maintain thorough, precise, and confidential electronic health records consistently.
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to organizational and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals and administrative teams to foster efficient patient care and workflow.
- Perform additional administrative and documentation tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- At least six months of hands-on experience as a medical scribe.
- Typing speed exceeding 90 words per minute.
- Strong computer skills with quick adaptability to new software.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, diagnostic processes, pharmacology, and clinical documentation for treatment planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher education in a healthcare-related discipline.
- Experience working with Epic electronic medical records system.
