Role Overview

The Partnerships Manager, Growth role is a part-time hybrid position based in Byron Bay, NSW, with flexible options for remote work. This position is charged with accelerating participant and client acquisition for Apter’s professional development offerings via strategic partnerships and targeted growth initiatives. Key functions include identifying target markets, researching relevant organizations and decision-makers, preparing partnership and outreach strategies, nurturing leads, supporting campaign execution, and advancing prospects from initial awareness to program enrollment or engagement.

Typical responsibilities encompass conducting market analysis, maintaining CRM data, creating partnership relationships, assisting with outreach, coordinating campaigns, experimenting with growth tactics, tracking performance, and reporting across digital and relationship-based channels. This manager collaborates closely with program leads to refine communication, fine-tune audience segmentation, establish institutional relationships, manage program launches, and ensure consistent and professional experiences for participants and partners alike.

Central to the role is effective partnership with AI tools—using them to expedite research, draft outreach content, analyze lead data, generate campaign options, summarize insights, maintain pipeline transparency, and develop innovative AI-supported growth processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially savvy, highly organized, and thrives in a small, dynamic environment where operational systems are under continuous development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficiency in interpreting data, segmenting audiences, and assessing growth experiments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for professional and academic stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in partnership cultivation, growth strategy design and testing, lead nurturing, and deal closure.
  • Project management capabilities ensuring timely and scoped delivery of initiatives.
  • Experience working in hybrid formats with both onsite and remote collaboration, based in Byron Bay.
  • Background in professional learning, consulting, partnerships, business development, or knowledge-based sectors is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, basic marketing analytics, and common productivity software.
  • Relevant academic credentials in business, marketing, partnerships, analytics, or related disciplines, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge or strong interest in Apter’s focus areas such as climate risk, coastal resilience, environmental and emergency management, energy transition, AI, applied research, governmental practice, or professional education.
