Role Overview
The Painter position is a full-time, on-site role located in Toronto, Ontario. This role involves preparing aircraft parts and components for painting by performing tasks like cleaning, masking, sanding, and priming surfaces in line with industry standards. Responsibilities also include applying coatings using various methods such as brushing, rolling, and spray painting, mixing paints to exact specifications, and ensuring proper curing processes to achieve a high-quality finish.
Key Duties
- Interpret work orders and technical directives to accurately prepare and paint aircraft components.
- Maintain and operate painting equipment and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
- Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to adhere to production timelines and project goals.
- Comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines related to painting operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in paint handling and application within industrial or aviation environments.
- Expertise in painting and decorating techniques to achieve precise, quality finishes on complex surfaces.
- Experience applying various coatings, including primers, protective, and specialized finishes.
- Competence in spray painting, surface prep, and equipment management.
- Background in aviation, automotive, or industrial painting is a plus.
- Ability to read and accurately follow technical instructions and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality and safe work practices.
- Physical ability to work on-site and handle lifting and moving parts as needed.
- Completion of high school or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certifications are beneficial.
