About the Role

Join Mitre 10 MEGA Napier as a passionate plant enthusiast and contribute to helping Kiwis enhance their homes and gardens. This role is situated in the Outside Garden Centre, involving active hands-on work with diverse plants, gardening products, and customers. Your horticultural expertise will be essential in assisting customers with selecting appropriate plants and providing effective gardening care advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert guidance regarding plants, their care, and gardening solutions.
• Utilize horticultural knowledge to support customers' gardening success.
• Ensure plants remain healthy, well-presented, and high-quality.
• Perform regular watering, pruning, and general maintenance of plants.
• Manage merchandising tasks including pricing and stock rotation.
• Provide friendly and informed assistance to customers.
• Operate safely and efficiently in an outdoor retail setting.

Candidate Requirements

• Authentic enthusiasm for plants and gardening.
• Preferably previous experience working in garden centres, nurseries, or related horticultural roles.
• Confidence in identifying various plants and advising on their care and seasonal requirements.
• A positive outlook with a focus on excellent customer service.
• Physical capability to work outdoors across all weather conditions.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays as necessary.
