About Laochra Academy

Laochra Academy is a rapidly expanding provider of School Aged Childcare services based in Cavan, County Cavan, Ireland. We are seeking a seasoned leader to join as Operations Manager, who is passionate about nurturing talent, building effective teams, and fostering an environment where children, families, and staff can flourish.

Role Overview

This position is a practical leadership role focused on supporting and developing a team of Coordinators. Responsibilities include coaching, operational oversight, relationship building with schools and parents, problem solving, and ensuring exceptional childcare delivery across all Laochra Academy services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of seven Coordinators, promoting a culture of accountability, support, and continuous development.
  • Oversee staffing needs through workforce planning, managing leave requests, reviewing rotas, and ensuring optimal resource allocation at all services.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to help Coordinators strengthen their leadership skills.
  • Conduct regular visits to schools and evaluate team performance through reviews.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Tusla, Children First, and other childcare regulatory standards.
  • Maintain high-quality standards, safeguarding protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Support recruitment efforts, onboarding processes, staff retention, and ongoing workforce planning.
  • Initiate staff engagement and leadership development programs.
  • Assist services in delivering child-focused, high-quality activities.
  • Ensure parents receive excellent experiences and address any concerns promptly.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance performance, quality, and expansion across the region.
