Operations Center Operator (II)

Overview

The Operations Center Operator (II) works within the Transmission Systems Department of the Water Transmission Company to oversee and analyze operational activities, ensuring effective system functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to enhance operational systems, practices, reduce costs, and improve productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including health, safety, environmental, risk, and cybersecurity protocols within the company and related functions.
• Promptly escalate and resolve issues to ensure efficient closure of operational cases.
• Execute daily shift operation scheduling based on demand forecasts, system capacity, maintenance shutdowns, and interruptions in water supply sources.
• Perform capacity gap analysis and coordinate the allocation of internal or external personnel to maintain system functionality.
• Investigate system encroachments, shutdown incidents, and performance deviations, supporting the implementation of corrective action plans.
• Facilitate coordination between Central and Local Control Rooms to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
• Compile and analyze operational, accident, and shutdown reports; assess schedule effectiveness; and recommend design or procedural adjustments to optimize productivity.
• Evaluate water quality, cooling, and pump oil system performance to detect quality or efficiency issues.
• Compare consumption forecasts against actual usage, extract lessons learned, and contribute to improved future water demand predictions.
• Support planning and design activities related to the rehabilitation and replacement of transmission system equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex issues escalated from control rooms to minimize operational disruption.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards to ensure employee safety and service excellence.

Experience and Education

Applicants should have between 6 to 9 years of pertinent experience in related operational roles. A diploma degree in technical fields or relevant disciplines is required.
