Role Purpose
The Online Merchandiser is responsible for managing the daily commercial effectiveness and presentation of the product assortment on the brand's website. This involves ensuring products are prominently displayed, easily discoverable, competitively priced, and positioned strategically throughout the customer journey to optimize conversion—from homepage through category pages, product detail pages, to the cart.
This position requires hands-on execution and translating broader e-commerce and purchasing strategies into actionable merchandising decisions. The role collaborates closely with executives in e-commerce, buying, CRM, and digital product teams to boost sales, conversion rates, and profit margins across categories including new expansions into Home and Beauty products.
Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain homepage, landing, and category pages to highlight top-selling items, new arrivals, and featured merchandise.
- Control product display sequence and ranking to balance commercial priorities with customer relevance.
- Coordinate with Buying and Merchandising to synchronize in-store and online assortments, featuring exclusive and online-only products.
- Maintain and optimize search relevance by managing synonyms and curated search results in collaboration with site search vendors.
- Continuously fine-tune filters and facets to minimize zero-result searches and enhance product searchability.
- Analyze search and navigation data to identify and resolve obstacles in the user flow from site entry to purchase completion.
- Implement pricing and promotions schedule in alignment with growth, merchandising, and CRM teams, ensuring timely price updates across brand.com and marketplace channels.
- Monitor discount levels and sales pacing to safeguard profit margins while encouraging product sell-through.
- Oversee product details page content standards, including images, sizing info, attributes, descriptions, and cross-sell/up-sell placements.
- Collaborate with Creative and Content teams to prioritize imagery and copy assets for launches and key product lines.
- Conduct thorough content audits before major launches and promotional campaigns to ensure completeness and quality.
- Support the introduction and merchandising of new categories like Home and Beauty, integrating third-party SKUs and marketplace listings.
- Establish navigation structures, attribute schemas, and merchandising rules for newly added categories.
- Work closely with Operations to address category-specific logistics, such as expiry management for beauty products.
- Track and report on SKU and category KPIs including sell-through, stock turnover, conversion rates, and margins.
- Identify low-performing merchandise and recommend markdowns, re-merchandising, or removal strategies.
- Feed insights from merchandising performance into e-commerce conversion optimization roadmaps.
- Collaborate extensively with internal teams, including E-commerce, Buying, CRM, Digital Product, IT, and Marketplace to coordinate assortment and content strategies.
- Align efforts with regional marketplace teams to harmonize product and content offerings.
