Role overview
We are hiring a caring and well-qualified certified nurse to provide professional care for a newborn in our household. The right person will help ensure the baby receives attentive, high-quality support and will bring reassurance to the family.
Working arrangement
This position can be structured in either of the following ways, depending on the candidate’s preference:
- Day shift: 10 hours per day.
- Full-time live-in: The nurse stays with the family on a full-time basis.
Core duties
- Observe the newborn’s health and development, including growth progress, sleep habits, skin condition, and any signs of jaundice or diaper rash.
- Support feeding routines for breastmilk or formula, including schedule management, bottle sterilization, burping, and tracking daily milk intake.
- Help establish safe sleep routines and guide the baby toward a more predictable day and night schedule.
- Provide newborn hygiene care such as bathing, umbilical cord care, nail trimming, and maintaining a clean, sanitized space for the baby and all belongings.
- Offer age-appropriate stimulation through tummy time, sensory activities, and movements that support early motor development.
- Maintain a detailed daily record of feeds, ounces consumed, sleep duration, diaper changes, and other important updates, often using an app or journal.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed or registered nurse with recognized qualifications in neonatal or pediatric nursing.
- Should have direct experience caring for newborns in a hospital or clinic environment.
- Needs solid clinical ability in newborn assessment, monitoring, feeding assistance, medication administration, and basic emergency response.
- Previous exposure to a neonatal intensive care unit or maternity ward is preferred.
- Neonatal resuscitation certification is preferred.
- English proficiency is preferred; Arabic language ability is an advantage.
