About the Role

The New Home Starts Assistant Manager oversees and improves the flow of New Home Starts operations. The role is centered on keeping construction-start activities organized, coordinating internal and external communication, assigning work fairly across the team, and making sure project milestones are completed on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the NHS Manager to distribute workload and community assignments among direct reports so that resources are used evenly and effectively.
  • Schedule and lead discussions with Division Presidents and Vice Presidents of Construction to review New Home Starts activity and the status of homes, providing updates at least once a week.
  • Ensure homes are processed accurately and within required timelines, while keeping NHS tools updated and in use.
  • Work with NHS leadership to maintain a steady monthly release flow and support the achievement of release targets.
  • Review all panels for accuracy and timeliness, resolve problems quickly, and create or issue panels when necessary.
  • Support and carry out the NHS Training Program by guiding and assisting team members.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with municipalities, developers, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel as needed for meetings and relationship management, including handling urgent projects and short-notice assignments under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of administrative experience in a professional office setting is required.
