Role Overview
As a Mortgage Production Assistant, you will support loan officers in the loan origination journey by gathering borrower data, preparing loan documentation, and ensuring an efficient client experience. Your organizational talents and communication skills will be key in maintaining smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer credit reports, review income and asset documents, and understand loan structuring methods.
- Run Desktop Underwriter (DU), organize and submit loan files, request and clear underwriting conditions, and communicate with borrowers and real estate agents.
- Serve as the main liaison between clients and Loan Originators.
- Collect application details via telephone and arrange appointments.
- Monitor all necessary documents within mortgage software such as Encompass or Salesforce.
- Inspect received documents within 24 hours to detect discrepancies or omissions and verify asset and income details, updating Encompass accordingly.
- Collaborate with Mortgage Loan Originators to address any file or documentation issues.
- Adhere to company policies to guarantee complete file submission.
- Participate in team meetings and comply with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of professional office work experience.
- At least one year of experience in the mortgage or banking sector.
- Possession of a valid NMLS License according to the SAFE Act of 2008.
- Foundational knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA loan guidelines.
- Experience using Encompass LOS or comparable mortgage processing software.
- Proficiency in Google Docs and strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Encompass, Blend, and Salesforce platforms.
- Over one year of mortgage origination experience.
- NMLS licensing at both national and state levels within the past 12 months.
