About the Company
Alpha Scientific operates at the cutting edge of chemical and microbiological assessments, providing detailed analyses of water and air quality for various organizations. The team is composed of expert scientists operating in dedicated UKAS-accredited laboratories located in Sittingbourne, Slough, and Manchester. Recently incorporated within Genuit Group's Climate Management Solutions, Alpha Scientific is positioned for significant expansion.
Working Hours and Location
This is a full-time role with working days from Friday to Tuesday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. The position is lab-based and onsite in Sittingbourne, England.
Role Summary
The Microbiology Analyst will collaborate closely with the laboratory team to perform microbiological testing on water samples according to specific SOPs, ensuring strict adherence to quality control procedures for result validity. Passion for science and a desire to grow technically within microbiology are essential. The incumbent will contribute actively to delivering top-quality client service and maintaining compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately recording and processing laboratory samples in line with client requirements within established timelines.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and laboratory standards.
- Supporting the maintenance of laboratory accreditation under ISO 17025.
- Assisting with upkeep and proper functioning of instrumentation and equipment to guarantee reliable test results.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- A scientific qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous laboratory experience is advantageous yet not essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday due to the nature of laboratory duties.
- Reliable commuting capability or willingness to relocate prior to starting.
