Role Overview
We are looking for a full-time Metallurgical Laboratory Technician located on-site in Kadoma, Zimbabwe. The role entails conducting metallurgical and analytical testing while maintaining the utmost accuracy, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of samples including crushing, pulverizing, and splitting to ensure proper test readiness.
- Carrying out and making interpretations of Fire Assays, Bottle Roll Tests, Carbon Assays, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) tests.
- Conducting wet chemistry analyses as required.
- Recording, interpreting, and reporting assay results with precision.
- Maintaining stringent laboratory quality assurance and control (QA/QC) standards.
- Adhering to laboratory safety protocols and best laboratory practices at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Assaying, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in metallurgical or analytical laboratory environments.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in Fire Assays, Bottle Roll Testing, Carbon Assays, and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
- Knowledge and experience implementing QA/QC systems and laboratory best practices.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent report-writing skills along with proficiency in computer applications.
