Member of Engineering (Data & Analytics)

Overview

A partner company based in Germany is seeking a Member of Engineering for Data & Analytics to develop and manage the core data and analytics infrastructure pivotal to advanced AI research and development. This role involves designing and maintaining critical systems that enable experimental workflows, model training, and large-scale data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and operate robust data and analytical systems that underpin advanced AI model workflows.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of experimental data including modeling, secure ingestion, efficient retrieval, querying, analytic processing, and data retention.
• Create scalable, reliable, and high performing data infrastructure to meet growing demands.
• Work collaboratively with research teams to comprehend data workflows and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain distributed systems, data pipelines, and analytics platforms, engaging both in greenfield projects and enhancement of existing operations.
• Identify and lead technical initiatives from conception through collaboration across teams, ensuring system performance and long-term scalability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated programming skills with Go, Python, or equivalent languages.
• Substantial experience in designing, building, and managing distributed systems at scale.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems principles such as consistency models, queueing, stream processing, and data pipeline architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, Kubernetes orchestration, and production-level observability frameworks.
• Capability to independently lead complex, ambiguous technical projects in a collaborative team setting.
• Excellent analytical skills focused on creating scalable and dependable engineering solutions.
• Experience with OLAP and time-series databases, handling high-cardinality datasets, or large-scale analytics will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of machine learning research workflows and experimentation is a plus.
• Exceptional communication abilities suited to working within a distributed international team.
