Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Engage in client, vendor, and contractor meetings including HAZOP, model reviews, and design reviews to ensure design integrity and safety.
  • Craft and assess mechanical equipment specifications and datasheets as part of the RFQ process.
  • Lead mechanical bid evaluations for equipment procurement during Request for Proposal (RFP) phases.
  • Guarantee that designs comply with specifications, industry standards, and governmental regulations.
  • Examine vendor submissions, designs, drawings, and mechanical details for alignment with RFQ and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with other engineering and drafting disciplines to secure necessary technical information for scope execution.
  • Supervise vendor activities to ensure fabrication, installation, and commissioning conform to codes and customer expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree is mandatory.
  • Licensed professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta.
  • At least eight years of experience in EPC within Western Canada's oil and gas industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of pumps, compressors, and skid-mounted packages to support engineering and procurement operations.
  • Strong understanding of API and ISO standards with practical experience in creating specifications, performing technical bid evaluations, and reviewing vendor documentation to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
  • High capacity to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines as required by client demands.
