Market Street Baker

Role overview

We’re looking for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for baking to join the in-store fresh bakery team in Witham. This position suits an experienced baker, someone from a bakery environment, or a professional kitchen background. You’ll represent the fresh bakery on Market Street and help deliver a great experience for shoppers.

What you’ll do

• Help customers feel confident that fresh bakery items are available throughout the day.
• Keep bakery displays well presented, fresh, and visually appealing to support sales.
• Prepare products to company standards using the right equipment, such as a prover, oven, and mixer.
• Produce a range of baked goods including bread, rolls, doughnuts, and fruit-filled items.
• Offer warm, helpful service and create positive customer moments by removing barriers and sharing the appeal of traditional baking and fresh products.

Working style and environment

This is a hands-on, active role in a fast-moving retail setting. You’ll need to work flexibly, support other fresh counters when needed, and maintain strong health and safety standards while using bakery equipment.
