About the Role
As a Supply Category Manager at MakeMyTrip, you will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of the International Ground Transport category by effectively converting market opportunities into active supply across key markets and corridors. Reporting to the Associate Director of Revenue Management and based in Gurgaon, this role requires a blend of technical and functional expertise with strong analytical, commercial, and program management skills to successfully launch and scale supply-driven business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead category expansion by selecting international markets, building supply chains, and managing launch processes for priority countries and corridors.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify supply gaps and suitable partner categories, developing a robust pipeline through industry outreach.
- Evaluate potential supply partners in various mobility sectors such as airport transfers, day trips, sightseeing tours, rail, buses, and intercity travel platforms.
- Manage sourcing discussions, assess business compatibility and scalability, and qualify partners for market launch.
- Oversee end-to-end contracting, including commission negotiations and ensuring sustainable commercial arrangements.
- Collaborate with Product, Contracting, Operations, Finance, Revenue, and category teams to facilitate partner onboarding and timely market launches.
- Coordinate with Product and Tech teams for integration, booking flow setup, content deployment, and launch milestones management.
- Resolve onboarding obstacles alongside Product teams to guarantee launch preparedness and smooth operational handoff.
- Monitor and evaluate launch progress and post-launch performance focusing on supply coverage, pricing competitiveness, fulfillment quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Work with category teams to identify cross-selling opportunities across international cab, rail, and bus services to create a cohesive travel offering.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal business units, operations, finance, and leadership for launch evaluations, partner escalation management, execution tracking, and prioritization.
Qualifications and Experience
- MBA from a respected institution with 7 to 10 years of experience in category management, supply, business development, marketplace, or growth roles within travel, OTA, mobility, platform, e-commerce, or consumer technology sectors.
- Proven expertise in international market research, sourcing, and evaluating supply partners.
- Strong commercial insight with a track record of contract negotiations and supply-side issue resolution.
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of SQL and/or Python considered an advantage.
- Experience managing cross-functional launches involving product, technology, operations, and business stakeholders is preferred.
- Familiarity with international travel, ground mobility, aggregation platforms, or multi-supplier marketplace ecosystems adds value.
