About the Role

Omnicell is seeking a practical and seasoned Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team focused on developing cutting-edge healthcare technology solutions. This position involves overseeing both new software projects and maintenance of legacy systems to ensure our offerings align with the dynamic requirements of healthcare providers. The individual will need a blend of robust technical expertise and deep healthcare domain knowledge to champion software development initiatives, collaborating effectively across departments to guarantee high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to software engineers, promoting a culture driven by innovation and ongoing improvement.
  • Partner with product management and various stakeholders to design and implement software solutions tailored to healthcare industry needs.
  • Supervise the complete life cycle of software development including architecture, design, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Engage hands-on in development activities such as coding, debugging, and supporting both modern applications and legacy codebases.
  • Guarantee compliance with best practices in coding standards, testing procedures, and documentation processes.
  • Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and budgeting to ensure timely, quality software delivery.
  • Promote the integration and best use of artificial intelligence within the team to enhance quality, streamline enhancements, improve root cause analysis, boost operational efficiency, and drive continuous refinement.
  • Keep abreast of novel technologies and trends impacting healthcare IT.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines accompanied by 6+ years of relevant experience; or an Associate degree with 10+ years experience; alternatively 15+ years relevant industry experience without a degree is also acceptable.
  • Accumulate over 10 years of software development experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated history of managing and steering software teams and project execution.
  • Proficiency in C# programming language and the .NET framework including .NET Core.
  • Experience maintaining and migrating FoxPro legacy systems.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare IT, with practical knowledge on healthcare workflows, regulations, and systems.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile development practices and DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with pharmacy information systems or technologies related to medication management.
  • Knowledge or experience with Omnicell's products and solutions.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and container technologies.
  • Practical involvement in migrating legacy software systems to cloud-based modern platforms.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Office-based work setting in Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10% of the time.
