About the Role
Dyson is looking for a driven Manager / Lead Design-to-Cost Engineer to join the Design-to-Cost team in Singapore. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance to strengthen cost competitiveness. As part of Group Finance, you will influence the profitability of Dyson’s inventions and innovations through your impact on product cost, product design, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and run competitor teardown activities to uncover opportunities for cost reduction and design improvement.
- Lead Design-to-Cost workshops and bring together cross-functional stakeholders to develop practical, high-impact ideas.
- Convert teardown and workshop findings into concise recommendations and help teams incorporate them into projects.
- Keep Design-to-Cost initiatives moving forward by monitoring progress and working with project teams to remove obstacles.
- Strengthen cost awareness across the organisation by sharing teardown insights and proven approaches.
- Coordinate with the Cost Management team and senior leadership on workshop results, project effects, and implementation roadblocks.
- Continuously improve teardown and workshop methods by exploring and adopting better ways of working.
Requirements
- Engineering degree with experience in process and component optimisation, ideally in electronics and/or mechanics.
- Proven ability to lead projects.
- Strong background and demonstrated success in cost engineering.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing technologies, including cost and margin structures for both purchased and internally manufactured parts.
