Role Overview
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team in Ashbourne on a full-time, on-site basis. The key duties include preparing and reviewing financial reports such as management accounts and variance analyses to aid business decision-making. The incumbent will handle accruals, prepayments, and accurate entries in the general ledger, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting tasks. They will monitor costs, margins, and inventory financials while collaborating with operations and commercial departments. Monthly and yearly closing activities will be supported, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and improvement of financial controls and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance finance systems, ERP functionalities, and automate processes aiming to boost efficiency and data precision.
- Assist the Financial Controller with daily financial operations, maintaining accurate processing and robust controls.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance reconciliations for timely period closure.
- Maintain inventory accounting and stock valuation, coordinating with operations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, audit standards, and proper period-end accounting procedures.
- Support management reporting, year-end audits, and provide financial insights for operational and commercial decisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Professional accounting credentials such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an Accounting Technician certificate with substantial relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of financial experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or food production sectors.
- Expertise in transactional finance, month-end close processes, financial controls, inventory accounting, and management reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, capable of independent work.
