Machine Learning Consultant (Remote, Part Time)

About the Role

TELUS Digital is recruiting skilled machine learning consultants to collaborate with policy enforcement experts and deliver valuable insights regarding AI-based decision-making. In this role, you will be instrumental in assessing, refining, and enhancing machine learning models focused on content moderation and policy compliance. Your tasks will include scrutinizing sophisticated content, offering constructive feedback on AI's reasoning workflows, and working jointly with policy specialists to ensure alignment between model outputs and organizational standards. Your contributions will significantly impact the models' effectiveness, annotation procedures, and the overall quality of AI-supported policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and critique AI model outputs and thought processes in complex trust and safety scenarios.
• Carry out precise content annotation in partnership with policy experts.
• Assist in supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF).
• Analyze data to reveal trends, patterns, and identify model weaknesses.
• Generate detailed reports and actionable insights for engineering and policy teams.
• Work closely with policy enforcement groups to guarantee model compliance with guidelines.
• Safeguard confidentiality and responsibly manage sensitive information.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in AI model supervised fine-tuning or reinforcement learning (RLHF).
• At least 2 years’ experience in machine learning operations (MLOps).
• One year or more working in user-generated content moderation or trust and safety operations.
• Proven skills in data analysis, trend detection, and report writing.
• Capability to handle ambiguous or edge-case situations effectively.
• Native-level proficiency in English for both spoken and written communication.
• Attention to detail with the ability to follow intricate workflows and organizational rules.

Additional Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience and be able to work during the hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Indian Standard Time, aligning with the company’s operating hours based outside India.

Compensation

This part-time remote position offers an annual remuneration ranging from $7,200 to $12,000.
