Role Details

We are seeking experienced Longwall Operators and Shearer Operators to join our core longwall crew. These permanent positions will begin in November 2025, allowing ample time for thorough onboarding and training before production starts in 2026.

Equipment and Responsibilities

Operate state-of-the-art longwall machinery, including CAT/HBT systems and advanced shearer technology within remote operating cabins.
Manage supporting systems such as monorail and hydraulics equipment.
Execute mining tasks like shearer operation, shield adjustments, face inspections, and tailgate management per mining plans and strict safety protocols.
Conduct pre-start checks, personal risk evaluations, and hazard spotting consistently.
Contribute to fostering a high-performance environment by supporting production goals and continuous site improvement efforts.

Candidate Profile

Proven longwall mining experience with operational knowledge of shearers, roof supports, AFC, and BSL systems.
Holding current longwall operation certifications (e.g., Shearer Operator, Chock Operator) is preferred.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and risk management.
Adaptable team player with a dedicated work ethic and positive attitude.
Additional tickets for underground equipment like Bolter, Shuttle Car, Loader, and Drift Runner are beneficial.

Work Lifestyle

This role works on a 7 days on/7 days off day/night rotation. The position supports residential (Moranbah) Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) or Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangements. While on shift, employees will reside in quality camp accommodations featuring amenities such as a gym, nutritious meals, and recreational facilities. The Centurion camp is renowned as a premier living environment in the Bowen Basin mining region.
