Overview
The Logistics Supervisor at Jabil manages the entire lifecycle of Customer Material Change Notice (MCN) cases, ensuring their successful resolution. This role involves leadership of the MCN Coordinator team and serves as the main liaison with customers for MCN and Extended Design Verification Test (EDVT) matters.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment efforts by interviewing and hiring MCN Coordinators, and communicate candidate criteria with recruiters.
- Monitor turnover rates among team members, identify causes, and implement improvements.
- Assess team and individual strengths and training needs consistently.
- Develop and validate training material for the area of responsibility.
- Coach and mentor MCN Coordinators to ensure superior service to internal and external customers.
- Prepare succession plans for the MCN Coordinator role.
Performance and Communication
- Set clear and measurable goals and performance metrics covering operations, project timelines, attendance, knowledge, and personal development.
- Gather and act on feedback from management, peers, and team members.
- Conduct timely and professional performance evaluations and ongoing coaching.
- Motivate both individuals and the team to continually enhance key operational metrics and achieve company goals.
- Manage and coordinate large teams, maintaining focus during challenging periods.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of recognition and rewards.
- Provide forums for idea exchange and maintain clear verbal and written communication.
- Adapt communication styles to meet individual team members' needs.
Technical and Customer Interface Duties
- Oversee all open and closed MCN cases for Cisco products at Jabil, some requiring EDVT testing in Florida or Penang.
- Serve as primary customer contact for all MCN and EDVT concerns, interfacing daily and using customer systems regularly.
- Travel to customer sites and Penang; deliver presentations to directors at customer locations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and vendors on component qualifications, changes, and documentation.
- Communicate updates to Workcells and reassign cases to Electrical-New Product Introduction Engineers as needed.
- Manage schedules and tracking of MCN cases, coordination of sample orders and shipments, and qualification status communications with customer engineering and production sites.
- Generate and monitor deviations, requests, and qualifications related to EDVT and production.
- Track End of Life activities, verify customer Bill of Materials, and compile periodic metrics reports using charts, graphs, and presentations for the Business Unit.
- Identify additional support opportunities with the customer on a global scale.
- Follow all safety, health, and security regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or a minimum of three years of related experience or training. Domestic and international travel is required.
