Role Overview
The Logistics Coordinator position involves managing daily transport and logistics tasks alongside supporting dispatch administration. The role ensures smooth movement of materials and finished goods, guaranteeing timely deliveries, efficient production, and cost-effective logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transport and logistics activities for all JFC divisions, including domestic and export markets.
- Align dispatch schedules with warehouse and production teams to fulfill customer orders punctually.
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, transport providers, and subcontractors about order queries, load planning, schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Generate and distribute picking lists for customer orders, collections, and dispatch processes, coordinating closely with the dispatch team.
- Organize and uphold all transport and shipping documentation for hauliers, subcontractors, customers, and exports.
- Oversee delivery progress and proactively address transport, scheduling, or customer service challenges to prevent disruptions.
- Plan transport routes, track transport effectiveness, and propose enhancements to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and boost service quality.
- Maintain precise logistics, transport, and shipment records using company ERP and business management systems.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure product availability for shipment and meet delivery requirements.
- Ensure adherence to company transport policies and procedures by all employees, contractors, and transport providers on-site.
- Confirm that transport operations and product movements comply with company security protocols and applicable transport regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by spotting opportunities to streamline logistics processes and elevate operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant workplace through strict observance of Health & Safety policies and best practices.
- Perform additional relevant duties as directed by the Transport and Logistics Manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transport operations is mandatory.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or construction environments is essential.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with transport regulations, quality standards, statutory requirements, and health and safety legislation.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems like Navision and transport management or routing software.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent English communication abilities, both oral and written.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and priority-management skills able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, able to identify and implement process optimizations.
- Knowledge of transport licensing and permit rules.
- Experience collaborating with customers, drivers, contractors, and third-party transport providers.
- Understanding logistics and supply chain operations in manufacturing, construction, mining, or process industries is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid forklift license is desirable; teleporter certification is a plus when relevant.
