Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Local Representative based in Canberra to serve as a crucial link coordinating company operations in the area. This permanent position reports to the Service Manager and offers a dynamic blend of fieldwork and office responsibilities.
Key Duties – Field
- Reduce emergency call-outs by implementing proactive maintenance and managing assets effectively.
- Achieve routine maintenance goals as per contract requirements.
- Minimize elevator downtime through efficient parts ordering and collaboration with Sales for cost estimates.
- Oversee repair jobs alongside customers and subcontractors within the assigned region.
- Expand business growth by cultivating and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols through field audits and supervisory control of subcontractors.
Key Duties – Office
- Manage and update routine maintenance timetables to satisfy contractual obligations.
- Meet budgetary targets for repairs and new business development within the area.
- Handle procurement by ordering parts, issuing purchase orders, and receiving equipment.
- Respond promptly with positive solutions to customer inquiries and issues.
- Participate in customer meetings providing technical consultation as needed.
- Support third-party consultants during tender evaluations and report generation.
- Assist Sales teams with tenders for new equipment, modernization, and repairs projects.
- Generate proactive area reports for management review.
- Contribute innovative ideas to improve internal and external business outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possession of a current ACT Electrical license.
- Trade qualifications such as Electrician, Fitter, or Mechanic; Electronics studies are advantageous.
- Strong IT proficiency coupled with leadership experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated business insight and capability to assist Sales effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven experience managing projects end-to-end.
- Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities.
- Team player with a positive professional attitude.
