Role Overview

This position focuses on pioneering research to develop advanced sulfone-based electrolyte solutions that offer enhanced thermal stability and safety for high-energy battery cells.

Responsibilities

  • Design and synthesize sulfone-based electrolyte formulations with non-flammable properties tailored for safety-critical applications.
  • Improve electrolyte performance to support high-voltage (>4.5V) operational stability across a broad temperature range.
  • Collaborate closely with the Validation team to prevent thermal runaway events through thorough safety evaluations and testing.

Required Expertise

  • Strong foundation in organic chemistry and understanding solvent-solute interactions relevant to electrolytes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the formation and stabilization mechanisms of the Solid Electrolyte Interphase (SEI) layer.
  • Experience utilizing Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) techniques for assessing thermal safety characteristics.

Education & Eligibility

Ph.D. candidates in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or Polymer Science disciplines, with demonstrable experience in electrolyte formulation development, are highly encouraged to apply. Graduates holding B.Tech / B.E. in any specialization or any graduate degree from recognized institutions are eligible.
