About the role
The Finance function supports the wider business with commercial insight, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making. It plays an important part in daily operations as well as long-term planning and scaling.
This role is for a Junior Treasury Manager to support the local treasury function in New Zealand. The position focuses on managing liquidity, market, wholesale credit, and capital adequacy risk.
You will contribute to key business decisions by developing and maintaining financial models and treasury frameworks, while also leading treasury-related analysis for market initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee liquidity, capital, and market risk activities for New Zealand on an end-to-end basis.
- Build and roll out treasury management frameworks.
- Assist with treasury-related regulatory submissions and reporting.
- Analyse liquidity movements in depth and support risk management through forecasting models and methodologies.
- Help the business launch and expand features in the market by advising on capital and liquidity needs.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with banking partners.
- Stay current with New Zealand financial regulations and compliance expectations.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience supporting treasury processes and controls from end to end.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, economics, or mathematics.
- Background as a Treasury Analyst in a bank or financial services organisation.
- Good knowledge of Reserve Bank of New Zealand rules and local financial operations.
- Strong analytical ability with a data-led approach to problem solving.
- Capability to break down complex financial topics and work through them methodically.
Nice to have
- Experience using data tools, ideally SQL.
- CFA Programme Level 1 or above.
- NZFMA accreditation.
