Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Project Manager to join a leading developer and residential general contractor in New York City. This role entails comprehensive oversight of construction projects from initial design through to final completion and handover. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with design intent, local regulations, and manage all construction phases efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the completeness of designs, ensure adherence to design intentions and compliance with applicable local building codes.
- Obtain clarifications from the design team as necessary.
- Manage all facets of construction projects including preliminary design, development, engineering, contracts, and materials procurement.
- Monitor daily construction activities and overall project management.
- Oversee financing activities, bank requisitions, punch list completion, and final certificate of occupancy processes on behalf of the owner.
- Develop and manage budgets, reporting capital expenditures to senior management.
- Supervise construction schedules, budgets, and timelines diligently.
- Maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and owners to ensure collaborative project success.
- Ensure all required permits and licenses are secured promptly.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess performance and identify improvement areas.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in ground up construction projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or closely related discipline; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Prior experience with construction projects in New York or New Jersey is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with teams and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of construction procedures, building codes, safety protocols, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and capability to lead project teams.

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $80,000 to $120,000 annually
