Junior Product Designer

Overview

The Los Angeles Dodgers are seeking a Junior Product Designer to join their Baseball Operations - Product Development department, focusing on creating software that supports analysis, scouting, player evaluation, and development within baseball analytics. This full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA offers hourly pay between $48 and $52.88, dependent on experience, skills, education, and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-fidelity UI prototypes addressing function-specific challenges.
• Leverage and enhance existing design system documentation.
• Create tactical UX deliverables such as user flows under guidance.
• Present design insights and decisions to immediate team members.
• Utilize existing user research during product and engineering problem scoping.
• Use standardized templates to document findings from user research.
• Implement industry best practices to resolve functional design issues.
• Test internal tools, documenting usability concerns.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, design reviews, and adhere to project management processes using collaboration tools.
• Learn and adopt team protocols for research, design, and testing.
• Observe peer practices to enhance personal design skills and participate in recruiting efforts as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or comparable industry experience.
• Some experience contributing to live products.
• Strong foundational design skills including user research, prototyping, wireframing, and data-driven visual design.
• Proficiency with Figma design software.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Collaborative ability and openness to feedback and guidance.
• Proactive in seeking clarity when requirements are ambiguous.
• Basic understanding of baseball rules and genuine interest in the sport.
• Eagerness to grasp technical concepts and recognize how technical constraints impact design options.
