About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering firm focused on delivering innovative bespoke machinery for the pharmaceutical sector. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to engage in the full lifecycle of custom equipment projects, from initial concept design to final installation. The position is based in Leicester and includes diverse projects that will enhance your engineering skills and career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize 3D CAD software to design custom machinery tailored to client requirements.
- Assist in managing projects through all phases, including concept development, engineering support, and final delivery.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute to the preparation of engineering documentation and participate in design review sessions.
- Support installation, commissioning, and handover processes to customers.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in a design engineering role such as Junior Design Engineer, Graduate Design Engineer, or Mechanical Design Engineer.
- Exposure to the design of special purpose equipment or bespoke machinery through academic, apprenticeship, or industry experience.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools to develop mechanical designs.
- Effective communication skills coupled with eagerness to learn new concepts and skills.
- Possession of a Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
