Overview
This Junior Clinical Fellow position offers valuable clinical exposure in Plastic Surgery, emphasizing surgical oncology and microsurgical reconstruction. The role is integrated within a multidisciplinary team comprising surgical specialists, medical oncologists, and clinical oncologists. It is well-suited for doctors seeking focused Plastic Surgery experience before pursuing a specialty training pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inpatient care, including overseeing daily management as part of the plastic surgery team.
- Participate in outpatient clinics and attend surgical theatre sessions regularly.
- Present cases at multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Engage in oncologic plastic surgery and microsurgical reconstruction, providing coverage as required.
- Collaborate closely with consultants, specialty doctors, and rotating registrars within the unit.
- Monitor plastic surgery flaps and contribute to postoperative care.
- Support consultant-led care over seven days, including planned weekend and weekday clinical duties to ensure timely decision making and continuity of patient care.
