Overview
Benjamin Steel Company is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Network Administrator to uphold and improve its technical infrastructure across several locations in Ohio. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this pivotal role involves providing comprehensive end-user support and managing servers, network systems, communication solutions, security measures, and enterprise software. The role demands up to 50% travel within Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert-level technical assistance for desktops, laptops, thin clients, mobile devices, peripherals, printers, and enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot and rectify hardware, software, OS, network, and connectivity problems promptly.
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft 365 suite, and other pertinent business applications.
- Develop and manage workstation images; assist in software packaging and deployment procedures.
- Support manufacturing technologies including equipment and barcode scanners.
- Resolve user issues concerning telecommunications, wireless networks, and mobile devices.
- Manage and configure servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network devices.
- Monitor network and system performance proactively to mitigate issues.
- Administer user permissions, security groups, and access rights within Active Directory and server environments.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware updates, OS patching, and software upgrades.
- Oversee enterprise voice and communication systems; liaise with telecommunications vendors for services and enhancements.
- Administer the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system, handling device enrollment, security compliance, inventory, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure cybersecurity controls including firewalls, antivirus, VPNs, email protection, and endpoint security are effective and up to date.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security updates, and achieve compliance objectives.
- Maintain accurate software licensing and hardware inventory records.
- Support disaster recovery planning and maintain backup systems.
- Use helpdesk and asset management systems for documenting IT incidents, service requests, equipment, and solutions.
- Create and update technical documentation, network diagrams, system configurations, and end-user guides.
- Research and recommend new technologies to elevate efficiency, security, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to advance IT projects and business goals.
- Provide backup support for the IT team and complete additional projects as assigned.
- Maintain punctuality and dependable presence at work.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of escalating responsibility in enterprise IT support roles.
- Proficient in managing Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft 365, servers, networking, and enterprise IT infrastructures.
- Experience supporting multi-location organizations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management, virtualization, backup solutions, and cybersecurity technologies preferred.
