Position Overview

The Mining & Metals Investment Banking team at NBCCM in London is looking for an Investment Banking Associate to assist in deal execution and originations. Ideal candidates will have 2 to 4 years of investment banking experience, preferably focused on mining, metals, or natural resources sectors. This role presents substantial opportunities to gain exposure to complex advisory and financing transactions and to progressively expand responsibilities within a specialized sector-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior Metals & Mining Investment Banking professionals with strategic advisory and capital market transactions.
• Perform financial, valuation, market, and industry analyses across global mining and metals sectors.
• Develop and update financial models, prepare client presentations, pitch decks, and transaction documents.
• Participate actively in client meetings, due diligence, and transaction execution processes.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, advisors, and internal colleagues.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, commodity markets, M&A activity, and financing developments in mining and metals.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or related fields, complemented by excellent academic performance.
• Between 2 and 4 years experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, equity research, capital markets, or associated roles, preferably within mining & metals.
• Strong analytical skills, especially in financial statement review and financial modeling.
• A problem-solving attitude combined with teamwork and collaborative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills capable of cultivating reliable partnerships.
• Attention to detail with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and Capital IQ is advantageous.
• Excellent communication abilities in both writing and speaking.
• A self-motivated, ambitious individual with a positive disposition and capacity to learn rapidly.
