Investment Analyst

Role Overview

The Investment Analyst position at BDS Hubs is a part-time remote opportunity aimed at providing investment-related guidance and analysis to entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This role focuses on evaluating business plans, conducting financial and market assessments, and identifying investment opportunities that are relevant for MSMEs and startup ventures.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will develop and appraise investment strategies, prepare comprehensive reports and presentations, and counsel both internal teams and clients regarding investment risks and expected returns. Collaboration with business development advisors is essential to ensure investment advice aligns with clients' financial situations, growth plans, and funding possibilities. Accurate documentation and staying current with industry trends are also necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Strong analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, data evaluation, and quantitative analysis.
• Substantial understanding of investments and finance, covering capital markets, corporate finance principles, and SME funding frameworks.
• Experience with managing investments and strategies, including portfolio evaluation, risk analysis, and returns optimization.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial tools, and experience handling financial statements and forecasts.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex investment information to non-expert audiences clearly.
• High attention to detail, organizational competencies, and ability to handle multiple remote tasks on a part-time basis.
• Preferred educational background in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related areas; professional qualifications such as CFA coursework are advantageous.
• Prior work experience in SME/startup environments, banking, or investment sectors is beneficial.
