About the Role

Join KIMS Hospital, the largest independent medical facility in Kent, as an Inventory and Stores Control Officer. You'll be integral to the efficient functioning of our Procurement and Supplies Department, ensuring timely availability of products to support hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receiving, accurate documentation, and return processing of inbound/outbound goods, including medical implants.
  • Assist the Inventory and Stores Manager by analyzing stock usage and advising on stock levels for clinical departments.
  • Supervise valuable hospital inventory stored onsite, utilizing electronic inventory systems to track stock and generate picking lists.
  • Implement stock rotation policies using the First In, First Out (FIFO) approach to minimize product wastage.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to review stock consumption and resolve issues related to obsolete or redundant items.
  • Generate reports, chase up pending orders, and coordinate deliveries and returns of loaned kits and other medical items.
  • Learn and operate the hospital's Purchase-to-Pay system for ordering and managing inventory.

Candidate Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English.
  • Minimum two years' experience in purchasing, inventory, or stores administration.
  • Proficiency with computers and a willingness to acquire new system skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.

Desirable but not mandatory: prior experience in a healthcare environment and familiarity with GHX PowerGate, NEXUS, or PowerGate Web systems.

Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts from either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Salary Range: £24,784 to £26,000 annually, depending on experience
