Role Summary
The role is targeted at an Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer focusing primarily on automation. This position demands a proactive approach to enhancing product quality and speeding up delivery processes by developing robust automated testing frameworks. The goal is to decrease dependency on manual regression testing by establishing scalable and reliable automated solutions integrated within continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain automated test frameworks for both UI and API testing purposes.
- Build and update automated regression test suites continually expanding the scope of automation every sprint.
- Embed automated testing processes into CI/CD workflows to enhance pipeline efficiency and reliability.
- Enhance test consistency by mitigating flaky test cases.
- Implement best practices like the Page Object Model and reusable test modules.
- Participate in defining test automation strategies and pinpointing opportunities for automation expansion.
- Analyze user stories to assess and ensure testability and business alignment.
- Conduct risk-based testing and exploratory testing as needed.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve testability, shift-left quality initiatives, and pipeline automation optimization.
- Champion an automation-first mindset across teams and actively seek improvements in testing workflows including evaluating AI-assisted test tooling.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in software testing.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience with automation testing.
- Proficient with Playwright, preferably using TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience automating modern web applications including single page applications, APIs, and authentication mechanisms.
- Competent in API automation tools and integrating tests within CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of Git and branching workflows.
- Comprehensive knowledge of test design and automation architecture principles.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performance testing tools like k6 or JMeter.
- Exposure to testing cloud-based or SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker for testing.
- Knowledge of test reporting and metrics dashboards.
