About Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness
Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness (WVCW) is a forward-thinking nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering comprehensive behavioral health, addiction recovery, developmental disability, residential, crisis, prevention, and school-based services across Wallowa County.
Role Overview
We are searching for a seasoned executive to assume the Interim Chief Executive Officer role, aimed at fostering organizational stability and advancing strategic goals during this period of leadership change.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement strategic plans in partnership with the Board of Directors to drive growth and ensure sustained success.
- Provide visionary leadership to nurture innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in operations.
- Guide and develop the executive leadership team, nurturing collaboration, accountability, and staff engagement.
- Oversee clinical and operational functions ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered behavioral health services across various programs.
- Manage financial planning including budgeting, fiscal oversight, contract and grant management, ensuring long-term financial health.
- Serve as primary liaison to the Board, provide timely organizational performance reports and support governance activities.
- Guarantee compliance with all laws, policies, and accreditation standards, fostering a culture of ethics and risk management.
- Represent the organization in the community, advocating for behavioral health services, and cultivating strategic partnerships.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives driven by data and evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes.
- Act as the executive leader during emergencies ensuring preparedness and coordinated organizational response.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing.
- At least 7 years in progressive senior leadership roles within healthcare, behavioral health, or human services sectors.
- Experience in managing complex organizations, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with behavioral health systems including Medicaid, Medicare, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to liaise with governing boards and advocate with political officials, including providing testimony.
- Clearance through pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed healthcare or behavioral health professional credentials.
- Experience leading Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics or Community Mental Health Programs.
- Background in governmental affairs and legislative advocacy.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role primarily operates in an office setting complemented by travel across Wallowa County and Oregon. The position requires ability to sit, stand, walk extensively, lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and utilize office technology. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary.
Work Arrangement
The position provides a hybrid work option, with initial onboarding onsite followed by a combination of remote and in-person engagement supporting leadership, board, and community interactions.
