Industrial & Commercial Electrician

About the Role

Level Electrical is inviting skilled New Zealand Registered Industrial & Commercial Electricians to join their expanding teams in Rolleston, Ashburton, or Geraldine. Serving Canterbury’s industrial sector, this role offers variety, from breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance to extensive installations, factory upgrades, and automation projects. Positions are suited for electricians based in Christchurch, Mid Canterbury, or South Canterbury, aligning with lifestyle preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations in industrial and commercial settings
• Perform preventive maintenance and servicing to ensure equipment reliability
• Diagnose and respond promptly to electrical breakdowns
• Undertake factory upgrades and electrical fit-outs to enhance operations
• Work with motor control systems, switchboards, and industrial machinery
• Commission and test new electrical installations for proper function
• Interpret electrical schematics and complete necessary job documentation
• Collaborate with PLC and automation professionals, with opportunities to enhance programming capabilities
• Mentor apprentices fostering a strong team-oriented environment

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Current valid New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence
• Proven industrial and/or commercial electrical experience
• Strong skills in fault-finding and diagnostic assessment
• Experience handling motor control systems and industrial equipment
• Preferable but not mandatory: exposure to PLC or automation technologies
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Possession of a full New Zealand Driver Licence
• A committed and positive approach with pride in quality workmanship
