ICT Technical Asset Coordinator

Role overview

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking a meticulous and well-organised Technical Asset Coordinator to join its ICT Services team at the City Campus in Auckland. This is a permanent full-time position supporting the management of AUT’s technology assets so they are used effectively, cost-efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements.

What you will do

• Help oversee the university’s hardware, software, and licensing assets.
• Support better utilisation of technology assets and improve value for money.
• Assist with cost control, budgeting awareness, and informed decision-making.
• Maintain accurate asset records and work with asset management systems.
• Partner with stakeholders across the university to support coordinated asset management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and practical service enhancements.

What you should bring

• At least 3 years of experience in ICT, asset management, procurement, or a similar setting.
• Good financial understanding, especially around budgets and cost management.
• Hands-on experience using asset management systems and keeping records accurate.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to handle competing demands.
• A collaborative, adaptable approach and openness to new ideas.
• Respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Indigenous peoples, and diverse communities.

Additional information

This role is full-time and permanent, with full-time defined as 37.5 hours per week. The starting date will be arranged with the successful candidate.
