About the Employer
Our client is a growing plaintiff personal injury law firm located in the Financial District of New York City. With a team of 20 attorneys, the firm handles a broad range of cases including motor vehicle accidents, premise liability, Labor Law, workers' compensation, product liability, and more. As a family-operated practice, they are dedicated to guiding accident victims and their families through complex litigation processes to obtain full compensation after serious or fatal accidents. The attorneys at the firm are trial lawyers.
Position Overview
The HR Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the human resources and operational functions within this fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will handle HR policy development, employee onboarding, training, recordkeeping, and compliance to ensure alignment with the firm’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and update HR policies, procedures, and memoranda to remain compliant with current employment laws and regulations.
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide business support in a dynamic environment.
- Develop onboarding programs and conduct training sessions for newly hired employees to educate them on company policies and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized employee records including personnel files, benefits documentation, attendance tracking, and disciplinary records in both paper and digital formats.
- Create and revise employee handbooks and policy documents with a focus on New York state regulations.
- Design and implement HR programs and strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least one year of practical experience in human resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $55,000 to $60,000.
