Role Overview
The Hospital Owner will lead the organization full time from the Tamale site, taking responsibility for strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial stability. This role calls for setting long-term priorities, directing clinical and administrative teams, and ensuring the facility meets healthcare regulations and quality expectations. The position also involves reviewing performance indicators, approving budgets, supporting staffing choices, and working with managers to keep services efficient and the workplace safe.
In addition, the owner will represent the hospital in stakeholder and community discussions, develop partnerships, and identify opportunities to expand or improve services. The role also includes making decisions on capital spending, tracking patient satisfaction, and promoting a workplace culture built on transparency, accountability, and ethical care.
Responsibilities
- Set the hospital’s strategic direction and long-term priorities.
- Oversee clinical and administrative operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare laws, safety rules, and quality standards.
- Review key performance measures and use them to guide decisions.
- Support hiring and staffing decisions in coordination with management.
- Work with team leaders to maintain effective patient services and safe working conditions.
- Represent the hospital in community outreach, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
- Evaluate capital investment needs and approve major spending decisions.
- Track patient feedback and drive service improvement initiatives.
- Encourage a workplace culture of accountability, openness, and ethical conduct.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead teams, set priorities, and make decisions using data and operational insight.
- Experience or strong familiarity with healthcare administration, hospital management, or a related area.
- Solid financial understanding, including budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
- Working knowledge of healthcare compliance, safety practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills for working with staff, patients, and external stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Tamale full time and stay closely involved in daily operations.
- Good problem-solving ability and confidence in handling risk and sensitive operational issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Medicine, or a similar field; equivalent leadership experience in a hospital or clinic may also be accepted.
