Role Overview
Subsea7 is seeking a Hook-Up Specialist to join the Operations Department focused on overseeing and coordinating all hook-up activities at our onshore facility. In this role, you will manage vendors and subcontractors while maintaining strong client relationships. Your responsibilities will include developing technical requisitions for necessary hook-up materials and equipment, as well as drafting technical scopes for subcontracted services.
The specialist will also support offshore hook-up campaign preparations by creating job cards, tracking materials, compiling tie-in lists, and coordinating all associated activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage the execution of Brownfield modification scopes including Electrical and Instrumentation works, Piping/Scrapper works, as well as demolition and installation tasks conducted by subcontractors at the onshore facility.
- Coordinate interfaces between construction disciplines and engineering teams, ensure material and equipment availability, and verify that work adheres to project documentation and timelines.
- Prepare Electrical, Instrumentation, and Piping documentation required for pre-commissioning and start-up phases post shutdown.
- Confirm that demolition scopes and E&I requirements are fully integrated into engineering documents.
- Review vendor schedules and assignments, including activities related to start-up and test runs.
- Develop the Onshore Plant Brownfield Execution Plan.
- Ensure all responsibilities comply fully with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including involvement in the Permit to Work (PTW) system and verification of safety measures.
- Identify, report, and manage risks and hazards within the scope of responsibility to protect personnel, equipment, and environment.
- Supervise piping, electrical and instrumentation, demolition/installation, and start-up activities, issuing relevant reports.
- Support subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
- Participate actively in site coordination meetings.
- Prepare maintenance reports for submission to the company.
- Manage spare parts movement as required.
- Produce comprehensive progress reports and highlight any challenges encountered.
- Establish effective tools for punch list management including generating reports to monitor status and forecast closures.
- Plan and conduct activity walkthroughs related to punch list management.
- Ensure punch lists are accurately documented, promptly communicated, and properly classified with assigned owners for efficient resolution.
- Coordinate teams managing interfaces between construction and engineering teams to facilitate punch list closure.
- Negotiate punch list contents and classifications with the client to align with contractual and project requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural, Piping, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience relevant to onshore facility modifications and Brownfield projects.
- Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions on technical issues, resource allocation, and procurement.
- Familiarity with standard office software including Microsoft Office and MS Project.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
