Position Overview
NEOS Engineering Recruitment is partnering with a prominent and well-respected plant hire firm based in Oxford, England to recruit an experienced Hire Negotiator. This role offers a salary between £32,000 and £38,000 yearly, alongside opportunities for career growth and benefits, within a dynamic depot environment.
Role Summary
As the Hire Negotiator, you will be the primary customer contact, ensuring efficient hire processes from initial inquiry through to equipment collection. The position involves supporting the depot's goals of maximum equipment utilization and exceptional customer service standards. It is suited either to current Hire Negotiators or experienced Hire Controllers seeking a new challenge in the plant hire industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing inbound hire requests and providing expert advice on equipment hire options.
- Creating quotations and converting inquiries into confirmed hires.
- Coordinating delivery, collection, and exchange schedules with the transportation team.
- Communicating with workshop personnel to guarantee equipment preparation and availability.
- Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Handling hire contracts, returns, and related administrative tasks accurately.
- Resolving customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Assisting the Depot Manager with utilization tracking and achieving commercial targets.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in roles such as Hire Negotiator, Hire Controller, Hire Desk Controller, or Hire Coordinator.
- Background in Plant Hire, Construction Equipment, Powered Access, Tool Hire, or Equipment Rental sectors.
- Strong customer service skills complemented by effective communication.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage various priorities simultaneously.
- Commercially aware and confident in meeting depot performance goals.
- Proactive and capable of working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
