Role Overview
The Head Pastry Chef will take charge of ROASKAVA’s pastry kitchen, spearheading the creation and execution of desserts that align with the café’s innovative and customer-centric ethos. The position involves leading menu development, seasonal updates, and implementing highly visual and engaging dessert presentations. The Head Pastry Chef is crucial to maintaining product excellence and a joyful dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pastry team by organizing schedules, supervising staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
- Develop and update pastry menus, focusing on interactive and visually stunning desserts.
- Control kitchen inventory, ordering, and ingredient management while minimizing waste and costs.
- Train and mentor pastry staff to maintain high performance and adherence to established standards.
- Uphold rigorous food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness practices throughout the workspace.
- Work closely with management to plan new menu offerings, promote signature dishes, and support marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house to deliver consistently positive guest experiences.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated excellence in dessert creation, recipe development, and attractive plate presentation.
- Prior experience leading pastry teams and training staff in patisserie, café, or restaurant settings.
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including stock management and cost control procedures.
- Ability to conceptualize and introduce innovative dessert menus that align with brand identity.
- Exceptional organization, communication, and time management capabilities, especially under pressure.
- Previous employment as a Pastry Chef or Head Chef, ideally in dessert-centric environments.
- Formal education in culinary or pastry arts, or comparable on-the-job training, is highly preferred.
- Strong commitment to inclusive leadership and delivering excellent guest service.
