About the company
Hero is a leading provider in Scandinavia of accommodation and support services, interpreter services, and qualification support for recognized refugees, people with subsidiary protection, and asylum seekers. Since 2017, the Hero Zukunft GmbH and Hero Services gGmbH have also been delivering these services in Germany. Guided by the principle of “making a new future possible,” the organization supports residents across 13 accommodations in navigating the integration process, while actively encouraging personal responsibility and independence. Support includes social work and care, help with medical needs, guidance on training and entry into the labor market, as well as assistance with community engagement and neighborhood networking.
The organization is now expanding to Schleswig-Holstein and is looking to strengthen the Landesunterkunft in Bad Segeberg with several facilities technicians (m/w/d), available immediately, on a full-time or part-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a weekly safety check of residents’ rooms.
- Inspect common areas, corridors, and sanitary facilities for damage or potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with house rules, the security framework, the crisis and on-call plan, and all relevant legal requirements.
Requirements
- A suitable vocational qualification and/or practical experience in a similar role.
- Experience working with refugees is welcome, but not mandatory.
- Very strong German language skills; additional foreign language skills are an advantage.
- Skills in conflict management and intercultural understanding are preferred.
- Well organized, reliable, and responsible.
- Able to work independently while remaining part of a team.
- Committed, resilient, and able to handle pressure.
- Motivated and eager to help shape the role and its processes.
