Role Summary

This key position, based in Darwin, involves leading financial activities for the entire DCOH Group. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage financial reporting, governance, compliance, risk management, and oversee a finance team. Your role will support the CFO and business stakeholders to enhance financial results, enforce robust controls, and enable strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage consolidated month-end and year-end closing processes including timely delivery of reporting packages and statutory financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, taxation, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Supervise core accounting functions such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
  • Develop and maintain strong financial governance, controls, policies, and procedures across the group.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and guidance to support strategic decisions and enhance business performance.
  • Lead and mentor the central finance team fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Drive process improvements in finance systems, reporting, and controls to boost operational efficiency.
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning functions of the group.
  • Collaborate with business unit finance leads to ensure standardisation of financial practices and governance.
  • Maintain productive relationships with auditors, banks, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct.

Candidate Profile

  • CA, CPA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, including senior leadership positions.
  • Deep expertise in technical accounting standards, including AASB, IFRS, tax laws, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven track record managing audits, governance frameworks, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing banking activities, cash flow, and financial risk management.
  • Strong commercial insight with analytical skills to assess financial results and identify improvements.
  • Leadership skills with experience cultivating high-performing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimisation skills.
  • Experience in construction, property development, hospitality, or other project-driven sectors is highly beneficial.
