Grocery Shopper Expert

Overview

This is a remote hourly contract opportunity for a Grocery Shopper Expert supporting retail and wholesale purchasing activities. The role is focused on selecting the right grocery products, improving buying decisions, and helping drive profitable assortment and supplier outcomes.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

Pay is set at $35 to $50 per hour. The expected workload is flexible, ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week. This is a remote contract role based in Canada.

What You’ll Do

• Choose and source grocery items for retail and wholesale needs.
• Study market movements, customer demand, and competitor product lines.
• Work with suppliers to agree on pricing and commercial terms that support margin goals.
• Maintain effective supplier partnerships to secure steady quality and supply.
• Track stock levels and act early to reduce the risk of shortages.
• Create buying approaches tailored to specific product categories.
• Share findings and purchasing decisions clearly with internal stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant hands-on experience in grocery buying, procurement, retail, or wholesale operations.
• Strong capability in product selection, negotiation, and purchasing strategy.
• Solid analytical ability to assess market and consumer trends.
• Experience handling supplier relationships and contract discussions.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good inventory management judgment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving setting.
